Anytime big names get into beefs and fights, they create headlines, and the internet awaits such moments. Now we are about four months into the year, and there have already been so many celebrity feuds witnesses, most of which were never anticipated by fans. Below are some celebrity fights we have already had in 2024.
Tiwa Savage and Davido
A few days into 2024, Tiwa Savage filed a huge petition against Davido indicating that the “Unavailable” singer intimidated to “fuck her up” due to her associations with his baby mama, Sophia Momodu. In the document, Savage asserted that Davido intimidated and molested her and informed her to be careful with the way she goes on with her business in Lagos.
Seyi Law and Eedris Abdulkareem
Nigerian Comedian Seyi Law and veteran musician Eedris Abdulkareem also had their fights this year. In February, the singer asserted in an interview that Seyi Law, a strong fan of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), made known guilt over defending the political party.
He said, “I was at an event yesterday, and Seyi Law came up and said, ‘abeg, make una no vex o! Everybody don curse me taya as I stand for Tinubu. I no dey on him mandate again o!’ and I asked him, ‘Seyi, how do you cope now?’ he responded, ‘My brother, I fucked up,’ he said, not that he collected anything. He said he made the biggest oversight.”
The Comedian responded to X, saying, ” Where did I tell Eedris I made the biggest error? Is it that he assumes a joke is a reality?”
Burna Boy and Eedris Abdulkareem
At the time of the interview on the Honest Bunch podcast in February, Abdulkareem also blasted Burna Boy’s assertion that no one made the path for him in the music industry, referring to it as stupid talk. In return, Burna Boy replied on X; he called out Abdulkareem, saying, “AbdulKareem, abi wetin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish to say you be person wey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey, make we use mistake jam”. After the post got attention on the microblogging app, he promptly deleted it.
Davido Fans and Burna Boy on X
Burna Boy, in February, sparked reactions on X after he described Davido as a joke. After Nigerian failed at the AFCON finals and the Grammy Awards, a fan of Davido called Burna Boy a clown, which in Yoruba means “Ode”, bottled 4 Grammy’s,” the supporter whose picture of Davido was on his DP got a reply from Burna Boy. Burna Boy replied that the real joke is in your DP, which is the picture of Davido.
Lord Lamba and Queen Mercy
These separated lovebirds’ relationship turned out bad after their relationship ceased. However, after former BBNaija star Queen Mercy declared her entanglement with David Oyekanmi on 29 February 2024, the fight turned the internet around.
Immediately after declaring her relationship open, the popular skit maker Lord Lamba hit Instagram to assert the paternity of her one-year-old daughter publicly, attaching photos of them and her foreign passport. It is widely known that before this time, the skit maker had never publicly accepted her, and the two have since been engaged in a possession fight for their daughter.
Zubby Michael and Timini Egbuson
From the first scene of the Ebuka Turns Up Africa reality show on Prime Video on 1st March 2024, a heated fight between Zubby Michael and Timini Egbuson started on who was the most prominent actor in Africa. At the time of this argument, Zubby Michael asserted that he was wealthy enough to buy Timini, which was a statement that got Timini upset. Timini, throughout the show, referred to him as local and charged him for borrowing vehicles from other celebrities.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu Vs Timini Egbuson
Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson and media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu also had a controversy on the Ebuka Turns Up Africa reality show. Timini blasted out at Ebuka for shopping with half of the group rather than scrubbing as formerly intended. At some point, Timini stated that “everybody is always kissing your fucking ass. Yes, you paid for a trip. How much is this trip? Calm down”. On the other hand, Ebuka disagreed with Timini’s delivery of view. However, these two later had a heart-to-heart dialogue and settled the disagreement.
Bobrisky Vs Portable
Contentious public celebrities Portable and Bobrisky got into a feud in March 2024. Portable attacked the judges for offering the prize to Bobrisky, a crossdresser, the “Best Dressed Female Award” at the Beast of Two Worlds film premiere. Bobrisky dragged him out, describing him as a “dirty boy” and charging him to mind his business. In reply, Portable dropped a hit track titled Brotherhood.
Femi Adebayo VS Dayo Amusa
Nollywood stars Femi Adebayo and Dayo Amusa disagreed in March 2024 after Bobrisky was granted “Best Dressed Female” at the Beast of Two Worlds film premiere. Amusa went to Instagram to express her dissatisfaction and condemn the event’s organizers and Adebayo, who was among the Judges for the award attached.
Adebayo replied to Amusa’s post, stating, “If my success is your problem, you can never have rest of mind. It is advisable that you channel your energy into your career and not be too busy trying to bring me down.”
